Chef Solus is excited to tell you what he has learned about the new My Plate!

Instructions

Just click on the picture to start the talking My Plate. Place your mouse over the different parts of the food groups shown on the plate to hear what Chef Solus has to say. You can also read the text at the bottom of the plate.

Chef Solus gave Tony a cool little gadget that tells him about the invisible stuff inside food! That's right. There are tiny little ingredients inside food called nutrients that are so small, we can not see them but the body knows they are there. In fact, Chef Solus explained that our bodies need these special nutrients to be healthy. He calls them vitamins and minerals! Now, with Tony's food gadget, you can find the foods that have these special nutrients in them. Check it out!

Game Instructions

Just click on the picture to start Tony Food Gadget. Then use your mouse to pick a category and then pick a specific nutrient you want to learn about. Use your mouse to see different foods in the list!

To keep this machine running, Chef Solus has to find the right foods high in certain vitamins and minerals. Foods are moving fast and time is running out! Hurry, the machine is starting to go crazy. Good luck!

Game Instructions

Just click on the picture to start the game. You will see a list of food items on the right upper hand side. As food moves across the conveyor belt, select foods from the list with your mouse and drag it up to the mouth of the machine. If it is the correct food item, the machine will happily open its mouth. If it is the wrong food, the machine will not be happy and will reject the food. If you are not sure what the food is, just put your mouse over the food item and you will see the name. Each time you complete a list of foods, the energy level increases. But the clock is ticking. If you haven't completed the list when the clock hits ZERO, the energy level drops. Each time you try to feed a machine the wrong food, the clock loses 5 seconds. Fill ALL five energy levels to win the game !

In Solus Library, you will find one of Chef Solus prize books. It's a special dictionary because it can talk! It's fun to learn about healthy words with this dictionary!

Just click on the picture to start the dictionary. Then using your mouse, pick the letter of the word you want to look up. The words starting with that letter will appear on the left hand column. Pick a word and the dictionary will pronounce the word for you. Then you can read and learn about the word.
